In its early stages, oral cancer can look like a common canker sore or a cut from a sharp tooth — raised red lesions with a white border that may be ulcerated, or red and white patches. Early detection is important, says Hamilton dentist Dr. Vineet Bhandari, because prognosis for recovery increases with timely treatment.
